review Killing for Company

Killing for Company review ã 3 Soon to be an ITV drama Des starring David Tennant Winner of the Gold Dagger Award for Crime Non Fiction Dennis Nilsen who died in May 2018 murdered at least 15 people before his arrest in 1983 This ground breaking criminal study of his killings was written with Nilsen's full cooperation resulting in a fasc. Having read two of Masters previous works She must have known the trial of Rosemary West and The shrine of Jeffery Dahmer I went into this book with some idea of how I expected it I must admit it was much better than I expected I found that his other works went off on a lot of tangents Now this book did go in many tangents but I found that they were relevant in my opinionThis was such an interesting read including Nilsen s own poems and drawings that made the whole thing much intriguing I highly recommend to anyone who is interested in true crime

Killing for Company review ã 3 Inating and horrifying portrait of the man who worshipped death On February 9th 1983 Dennis Nilsen was arrested at his Muswell Hill home after human remains had been identified as the cause of blocked drains 'Are we talking about one body or two' a detective asked Nilsen replied 'Fifteen or sixteen since 19. I was around ten years old when the arrest of Denis Nilsen made headline news and I vaguly remember the press uproar Being too young to understand this kind of thing it faded into dim memmory until I read about this case again in a bi weekly publication of various serial killers publiched in the early 90 s and got to learn about the depraved acts of this most unusual of killers This publication really based itself on shock value and popularised common knowledge of the events IE simply about the murders and nothing very deep about the motives of the man who committed the crimesThis book takes a holistic approach and covers the whole attempting to piece togeher Nilsen s early childhood teens and adult life pointing to important events that could hopfully shed some light into the possible reasons he had to commit such evil acts in his later years The authour developed a very close relationship with Nilsen that provided far information into his motives and reasoning than any other serial killer has ever shed light upon and all the information you will need is right here Yes granted it is disturbing in the extreme and not for the casual reader as a book at bed time so consider this a technical examination of a sick man and not a dramatic version of events from a pulp fiction novelDon t be put off by the fact this book was written in 1985 and may be out of date by todays standards it only benefits from this fact The facts are all fresh in the mind of the killer and also the authour time had not chance to dull recollections of the major points of this case all provided by Nilsen himself in his need to unburden himself of his actsThis is a very compelling book and is a must read for people who are studying serial killers and criminal cases in general A fantastic exploration into the mind of a very sick human being who maintained a facade of normailty whilst committing the most unspeakable acts in the privacy of his own fantasy world
